Islamic State Leader Threatens New York
The Islamic State has seemingly put up another video, this time targeting New York City. I heard Wolf Blitzer report this on the radio on CNN today. The Islamic State has threatened New York City in the past as the image at the beginning of this post shows. If they actually do it, the political impact of this could be enough to actually change what the voters in the State of New York may do in 2016. It also might result in some policy changes out of Washington, D.C.

While elements of the video may not be new, tying it in with the Paris attacks is.
The Islamic State is certainly in the news a lot this week
Today, the Islamic State is claiming that it used a ‘soda can’ bomb like what is shown below to down the Russian plane over Egypt on October 31, 2015:

The Islamic State group has released a photo of what it claims is the bomb that took down a Russian jetliner over Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula last month and says it targeted the plane because of Moscow’s aerial bombardment in Syria. …
Dabiq also showed what appeared to be a detonator and a switch on a blue background and a photo of what it said were passports of Russians killed in the October 31 disaster and recovered from the wreckage in the Sinai desert.
The Islamic State said it had discovered a “way to compromise the security” at Egypt’s Sharm el-Sheikh airport to plant the bomb. The Russian newspaper Kommersant said authorities concluded the bomb was in the rear of the aircraft’s main cabin, near the tail section, not in the cargo hold as experts had first thought. http://www.voanews.com/content/putin-sissi-agree-on-new-airline-security-measures/3063274.html
The Islamic State may well have reached a tipping point where Russia and the West will decide to more directly confront it militarily.
France and Russia have been bombing suspected Islamic State targets, and the USA has apparently provided at least the French with information on potential bombing targets.
But we may well see much more escalation and terror.
