The Godhead and the Trinity

The Bible teaches God is one. How? Unitarians claim one means only one Divine Being, normally known to Christians as the Father. Trinitarians claim that the Godhead consists of three co-equal parts, being the Father, the Son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit. Binitarians (sometimes called Semi-Arians) teach that the Father (Ancient of Days) and the Son (Jesus) are God, that the Holy Spirit is the power of God (like an effluence or finger), and that after the resurrection Christians will be born again into the very family of God. What does the New Testament teach? Were portions of 1 John 5:7-8 wrongly added to many Bibles? What did early Church of God writers teach? What did Gregory Thaumaturgus teach? What did Bart Ehrman teach on the trinity? Do Jesus and the Father have different words and wills? Was Jesus fully Divine after the incarnation or did He empty Himself of His Divinity? What has Dr. Daniel Wallace taught about the gender of the Holy Spirit? What was the involvement of apostates such as Valentinus and Montanus on the trinity? What about Emperor Constantine and Athanasius? What was the primary belief of the Godhead at the A.D. 325 Council of Nicea? What was officially adopted at the A.D. 381 Council of Constantinople? Did Theodosius declare that those who did not accept the Greco-Roman trinity to be "foolish madmen"? Do many teach a doctrine of Antichrist when it comes to the Godhead? Did Martin Luther, Catholic scholars, and Protestant scholars (like Dr. Harold Brown) teach the trinity was a mystery? Was Theophilus of Antioch or Tertullian of Carthage the first to use the Latin term 'trinitas,' meaning trinity? Did Theophilus teach deification and that humans were the Wisdom that were the third part of God? Does the Continuing Church of God adhere to sola Scriptura and the original faith on the Godhead? Dr. Thiel covers these topics with scriptures, quotes, and historical references.
