Gideon's Army: Lessons for Philadelphian Believers

The late deacon Richard Close was working on a sermon for the CCOG based on one about 'Gideon's Army' given by the former WCG minister Jim Rector who died in 2006. For this sermon, Dr. Thiel uses much of the Jim Rector information, but adds many scriptures and points that were not part of the original one. The sermon is based on the accounts of Gideon and his army, which was dropped from 32,000 to 10,000 to 300 to face an army of 100,000 or so. Does God sift Christians? Can we walk by faith and not sight? Can we trust in God when faced with physically overwhelming odds? Did Gideon and Moses hesitate? Can we accept God's calling and act upon it? How do some of the events back in Gideon's time relate to our time, like the 2/3rds that left the army because of fear, having a little strength, supporting God work, and relying on God's Spirit? Are there times we can ask God to show us things?
