Lessons from the Book of Jonah

Lessons from the Book of Jonah
Dr. Bob Thiel

Representation of Jonah Preaching to the Ninevites (1866) by Gustave Doré

In this sermon, Dr. Thiel goes through each and every verse of the Book of Jonah. He answers questions such as when did the events happen, what was the relative importance of Ninevah, was Jonah really swallowed by a great fish, how did Jonah respond differently than Job, do we resist God, should we change, is it a sin not to do what we know is right, and how long was Jesus and Jonah in the "grave'? The sermon quotes other scriptures, including what Jesus said verifying the veracity of the account, which biblical critics often dismiss. Quotes related to Jonah from other Church of God writers are included. Several lessons to be learned from the Book of Jonah were discussed.
