Forgiveness and Being Merciful

Rembrandt’s Return of the Prodigal Son

The Bible teaches that all have sinned and all humans deserve death. What about forgiveness, grace, and mercy? What is sin? Is forgiveness good for your health? What about forgiving someone who is not sorry? Are Christians required to be kind and forgive? What about bitterness and holding a grudge? What did Dibar Apartian and Dexter Faulkner write? What about reconciliation? Is there a cost to sin, even if one is forgiven? Does mercy triumph over judgment? Were Christians enemies to God before conversion? What did Jesus teach about mercy and forgiveness in the 'Sermon on the Mount'? If we want to be "sons of the Most High" (Matthew 6:35), do Christians need to be kind to enemies? How often does the Bible mention mercy and forgiveness? Do the wicked really "get away with it" or do people reap what they sow? If the last may be first, could an adversary in this age be your boss in the age to come? Are God's ways fair? Can YOUR sins really be forgiven? Remember what happened with the murderous persecuting Saul who became Paul. Are bad things often said against God's people and His prophets? What happened to the eldest son of the prodigal son? Are the forgiving supposedly merciful? Dr. Thiel addresses these issues in this sermon.
