Mr. Dupuie: Dr. Thiel, will Israel be destroyed in the Iran war?
Dr. Thiel: No. Israel will exist for a long time afterwards, according to biblical prophecy. But what may happen, this is a prophecy in Isaiah 22:6-9 that talks about God's going to remove the protection of Judah, which I think is relating to the tiny nation we call Israel today. And damage will be great to the city of David, which means Jerusalem. And who's supposed to do this? It looks like a confederation led by people from Iran, with some from Syria, and probably some from Lebanon, using some biblical terms for them. So Israel may experience great damage from this war, because we don't know that this war of its health is necessarily the cause, but Israel will continue to exist. This will not destroy Israel. It's also not the war of Ezekiel 38 that some Protestants had said.
