France and its hapless President Emmanuel Macron are in deep trouble…
On Monday, Macron’s government failed to survive a “no-confidence” vote as the country spiraled into crisis. What’s most worrying for Macron is that the vote wasn’t even close. Prime Minister François Bayrou was dumped overwhelmingly in a 364-194 vote. At issue: Bayrou’s sensible but unpopular notion that France had to cut spending to address a growing debt crisis.
“Sensible” and “socialism” don’t ordinarily go hand in hand. Thus, in office only since December, Bayrou was given an unceremonious heave-ho.
Macron turned to an old ally to replace Bayrou. He named departing defense minister Sébastien Lecornu to be the fourth prime minister of Macron’s government this year. …
Protesters set fires as they blocked highways and gas stations across France early Wednesday as part of a new nationwide movement. Authorities deployed 80,000 police, who made hundreds of arrests and fired tear gas to disperse crowds.
The “Block Everything” movement was born online over the summer in far-right circles, but spread on social media and was co-opted by left-wing, antifascist and anarchist groups. It now includes France’s far-left parties and the country’s powerful labor unions.
Their joint day of unrest adds to the country’s political turmoil, after the collapse of centrist President Emmanuel Macron’s government earlier this week in a similar backlash over proposed budget cuts and broader anger at the political class.

Americans who don’t spend time in Europe might not fully appreciate what a powder keg the Old World has become.
However bad social relations in the United States now are, they are at least an order of magnitude worse on the other side of the Atlantic. European self-hatred is dissolving traditional cultural bonds. Mass immigration is compounding age-old rivalries.

In the eighty years since the project for European integration began in earnest, those latent contradictions have transformed Europe into a tinderbox with even greater potential energy for self-destruction than existed before WWI and II. While the bureaucratic ruling class has actively repressed the historic identities of native Europeans, it has flooded the continent with foreigners who are encouraged to retain their own cultural identities. In this way, a Hungarian or Pole or Dane who celebrates his country’s unique heritage is denounced as a “far-right nationalist,” while a Frenchman who insists that African and Middle Eastern immigrants assimilate to the European way of life is denounced as a “racist” and “bigot.”
This anti-European monstrosity was created deliberately. Simultaneous suppression of Europeans’ national identities and protections for foreign nationals create a kind of “multiculturalism dynamo” that converts Europeans into something alien. Stripped of their native religion, culture, and historic customs and forced to praise foreign religions, cultures, and customs taking hold in the West’s civilizational void, Europeans are effectively assimilated within their own lands. Europeans are taught to despise their own civilization and to bow down before those who seek to replicate a foreign civilization inside Europe. Europe’s bureaucratic ruling class uses foreigners to beat the Europeanness out of Europeans. …

Vance angered many European elites in his Munich speech when he warned them that the greatest security threats their countries face are within—and that their attempt to deny them by squelching free speech was only making matters worse. This—the danger not of war with other nations, but of civil war—is precisely what he was talking about. …
If Betz is right about the likelihood that civil war in one European country would likely set it off in others, that question might be in vain. Well, yes, civil unrest, and probably civil wars, will break out in Europe. But, while politicians have been helping set the stage for this, issues with Muslim immigrants will be a factor.
Right now, many in the European Parliament are looking changing the top leader of the European Union.
While this attempt failed in July (see Ursula von der Leyen survives ‘no confidence vote,’ but is civil war coming to Europe?), we may see a change in October as the following suggests:
The Left launches no-confidence motion against European Commission

The group has collected enough signatures, with the help of some Greens and non-attached MEPs. Von der Leyen now faces two confidence votes in October.
The European Parliament’s Left group launched its own no-confidence motion against the European Commission on Thursday in parallel to one put forward on Wednesday by the far-right Patriots for Europe group. …
The motion of censure is designed to trigger the resignation of the College of Commissioners and focuses on two key beefs with the executive: the trade strategy of the European Commission and its position on the war in Gaza.
The Left deems the recent EU-US trade deal “prejudicial, asymmetrical, non reciprocal” and “undertaken without a democratic mandate”. The EU-Mercosur deal is also heavily criticised by the leftist group.
“There is a tendency within the European Commission to push things through by force. The [trade] agreement with the United States, which will literally reduce the EU to a Donald Trump vassal. Or the free trade agreement with Mercosur, which will only kill European agriculture,” Manon Aubry, co-president of the Left group, told Euronews on Thursday. …
The motion of censure also condemns “the Commission’s failure to address both the climate and the social crisis across Europe”. For all these reasons, the signing MEPs conclude that Ursula von der Leyen and her commissioners should resign. …
Will the Left and far-right support each other’s motions?
At least two-thirds of votes cast, representing a majority of all MEPs, are needed for a motion of confidence to pass and forcing the resignation of the Commission.
This high threshold makes any motion of censure unlikely to succeed. In July, the European Parliament rejected a motion tabled by some Conservative MEPs, with 175 MEPs in favour, 360 against, and 18 abstentions. …

While Ursula von der Leyen may survive this again, the reality is that there are many issues affecting Europe, including policies from US President Donald Trump.
Eventually, Europe will reach a breaking point and change. Many Europeans want major change now.
Europe will one day support a dictatorial strongman. The Bible calls him the Beast of the Sea (Revelation 13:1-10) and the King of the North (Daniel 11:40).
Sometime after various crises and troubles during the “beginning of sorrows” (Mark 13:5-8), a particular leader will arise. Notice some of what Daniel was inspired to write:
25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand. (Daniel 8:25, KJV).
23 And after the league is made with him he shall act deceitfully, for he shall come up and become strong with a small number of people. 24 He shall enter peaceably, even into the richest places of the province; and he shall do what his fathers have not done, nor his forefathers: he shall disperse among them the plunder, spoil, and riches; and he shall devise his plans against the strongholds, but only for a time. (Daniel 11:23-24, NKJV)
So this leader gives people the impression that there will be “peace.”
In troubled times, strong leaders promising peace tend to gain support.
After two prophesied reorganizations in Europe, a strong leader will emerge:
12 “The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. (Revelation 17:12-13, NKJV)
The final European Beast leader, who is also known as the final King of the North, will ultimately promote his religion (Daniel 11:36-38; which will not be Islam, he will at first feign and claim a form of Roman Catholicism). He will make a deceptive deal with the leader of a confederation of peoples in North Africa and the Middle East (cf. Daniel 11:27; Psalm 83:3-8).
That leader will NOT be the politically weakened Ursula von der Leyen.
We will continue to see Europe moving towards its biblically-revealed role.
