The situation between the USA and Iran has been heating up:
Iran foreign minister warns of attacks on US bases if Washington strikes

Iran’s foreign minister said that Tehran would attack U.S. military bases if Washington conducts strikes in the Middle Eastern country, warning that “U.S. bases are spread all over the region.”
“In my view this is very clear. If the U.S. attacks us, it is evident that we don’t have the ability and access to attack U.S. territory (the country), and therefore have to attack or retaliate to U,S, bases in the region. And unfortunately, U.S. bases are spread all over the region,” Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said in an interview with Al Jazeera, according to a translation from the outlet.
During President Trump’s second term, there has been notable tension between Iran and the U.S. On Friday, the president said fresh talks between the two countries were “very good.”
But Trump still warned of “very steep” consequences if the U.S. and Iran don’t hammer to a deal amid indirect talks between the two countries.
“You have to get in position. We have plenty of time if you remember Venezuela, we waited around for a while and we’re in no rush,” Trump said when questioned about a timeline. https://thehill.com/policy/international/5728460-iran-threatens-us-bases/
While it is not unexpected that if the USA bombs Iran that Iran would retaliate.
However, by saying that publicly, this may get Donald Trump to order the USA military to prepare an even heavier initial attack, should he order an attack.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Sunday ruled out Tehran ever giving up uranium enrichment in its negotiations with Washington, insisting it will not be intimidated by the threat of war with the United States.
The minister, Abbas Araghchi told a forum in Tehran attended by AFP, that Tehran had little trust in Washington and even doubted that the US side was taking renewed negotiations seriously.
“Why do we insist so much on enrichment and refuse to give it up, even if a war is imposed on us? Because no one has the right to dictate our behaviour,” Araghchi

Well, Donald Trump does want the USA military build-up to frighten Iran.
Thus statements against that from Iranian officials would seem to inflame Donald Trump even more. Again, another reason he may decide on an even larger attack should he actually order an attack. This is at least a rumor of a war and could become a war.
Jesus, of course, warned about these things and referred to them as the beginning of sorrows:
4 Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. (Matthew 24:4-8)

I have long believed that Iran is a threat that will one day be ‘neutralized’ (Jeremiah 49:34-38), as I believe it will overplay its hand. Iran’s public statements seem to be confirming that it intends to “overplay its hand.”
As far as Iran itself goes, it has long wanted to lead all of Islam. It hopes by one day conquering Israel (according to a video it put out over a decade ago), it will get the rest of the Muslims to follow it. However, it will fail to become the leader of Islam– the Bible points to an Arabic power doing that in Daniel 11:40-43. Because of that, I have long felt that it may be that Iran would be ‘neutralized’ before the final King of the South (Daniel 11:40) rises up.

Iran and Prophecy
Prior to his first election, Donald Trump stated that he wants to eliminate or at least change the “nuclear deal” with Iran. [i]
And that he did.[ii]
However, the Biden-Harris Administration tried to revive it, though never fully did. However, the Biden-Harris Administration did release billions of dollars in frozen Iranian assets back to Iran[iii] as well as it, apparently intentionally, did not enforce sanctions which allowed Iran to nearly triple its oil revenues 3 years after Donald Trump left office.[iv]
In the June 27, 2024 debate with Joe Biden, Donald Trump then blamed the Biden-Harris Administration for assisting in Iran’s ability to provide more funding to proxies such as Hamas and Hezbollah.[v] It is believed that Donald Trump will likely use some type of “maximum pressure” strategy again against Iran during his next Administration.[vi]
Because Bible prophecy indicates that it will be primarily Arabic nations that support the final King of the South (Daniel 11:40-43; Ezekiel 30:1-8), though with some support (probably temporary per Daniel 11:25-26) from Turkey (and possibly Pakistan), it is not biblically possible that Iran can truly be the leader of the Islamic world as it seems to want to be. Also, because it is basically due east of Jerusalem, Iran should not be considered to be a candidate to be the final ‘King of the South’ of biblical prophecy.
Despite its posturing and relative military strength, Iran will be somehow effectively neutralized (cf. Ezekiel 32:24). This could perhaps be from an attack involving Israel and/or internal civil unrest — this could also include electromagnetic (EMP) or similar weapons used against Iran (Jeremiah 49:34-39).
It is of prophetic interest to note that the small nation of Israel is prophesied to one day be attacked by some that seem to have a connection to Iran (Isaiah 22:1-14).
Iran may decide to strike out against Israel, and possibly Jerusalem (cf. Isaiah 22:7-8) if a Trump Administration and/or Israel takes actions it does not like.
Iran has weapons that can cause damage. Furthermore, the USA itself (as well as is the State of Israel) is vulnerable to EMP type attacks and items such as biological weapons, chemical weapons, terrorism, nuclear weapons, dirty bombs, etc. because of a conflict involving Iran, Syria, and/or others.
But should this occur, this would NOT be the final destruction of the USA. Prophetically, Iran would not end up faring well (cf. Ezekiel 32:24-25).

Since that book was published, yes, Donald Trump has reinstituted a type of “maximum pressure” strategy again against Iran.
Notice the following prophecy that is to apply to Iran some day:
24 “There is Elam and all her multitude,
All around her grave,
All of them slain, fallen by the sword,
Who have gone down uncircumcised to the lower parts of the earth,
Who caused their terror in the land of the living;
Now they bear their shame with those who go down to the Pit.
25 They have set her bed in the midst of the slain,
With all her multitude,
With her graves all around it,
All of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword;
Though their terror was caused
In the land of the living,
Yet they bear their shame
With those who go down to the Pit;
It was put in the midst of the slain. (Ezekiel 32:24-25)
Ezekiel 32:24-25 may well be fulfilled after Isaiah 22:6-8 is fulfilled as the expression “Elam and all her multitude” looks to be pointing to a confederation that Iran (Elam) leads.
Also, related to Iran, notice the following prophecy which indicates at least part of its destruction before the latter days:
34 The word of the Lord that came to Jeremiah the prophet against Elam, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying, 35 “Thus says the Lord of hosts:
‘Behold, I will break the bow of Elam,
The foremost of their might.
36 Against Elam I will bring the four winds
From the four quarters of heaven,
And scatter them toward all those winds;
There shall be no nations where the outcasts of Elam will not go.
37 For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies
And before those who seek their life.
I will bring disaster upon them,
My fierce anger,’ says the Lord;
‘And I will send the sword after them
Until I have consumed them.
38 I will set My throne in Elam,
And will destroy from there the king and the princes,’ says the Lord.39 ‘But it shall come to pass in the latter days:
I will bring back the captives of Elam,’ says the Lord.” (Jeremiah 49:34-39)
I have long been of the view that Iran would somehow be neutralized before the start of the Great Tribulation.
We are in the time Jesus referred to as “the beginning of sorrows,” as it appears that two or three of the four horseman of the Apocalypse have begun their rides.
In addition to “rumors of war,” we should expect more wars as Jesus warned in Matthew 24:6.
Iran may attempt to carry out its threats, and while that could cause major damage, that also would not end well for Iran.
