In Greenland and Antarctica, supposedly “safe” ice is melting alarmingly; Australia heat wave fast

Massive amounts of ice appear to be melting:

In Greenland and Antarctica, supposedly “safe” ice is melting alarmingly fast

It’s been a bad week for ice. Last Tuesday, researchers announced that the Eastern Antarctic Ice Shelf—previously thought to be stable or even growing—is actually melting alarmingly fast. And … (Jan. 21), a new study found that southwest Greenland—another area where ice was supposed to be safe—is dumping more meltwater into the ocean than any other region of the icy island.

Both of these developments spell trouble for coastal communities threatened by rising tides.

“We’re going to see faster and faster sea-level rise for the foreseeable future,” Michael Bevis, lead author of the Greenland study, said in a statement. “Once you hit that tipping point, the only question is: How severe does it get?” 01/22/19 https://qz.com/1530584/in-greenland-and-antarctica-even-safe-ice-is-melting-fast/

Greenland has gone through an “unprecedented” period of ice loss within the last two decades.

The Grace satellites revealed a four-fold increase in mass being lost from Greenland’s ice sheet from 2003-2013.

The study in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences shows that ice loss subsequently stalled for 12-18 months.

The research reveals how different areas of Greenland might contribute to sea-level rise in future. …

The consequence of this finding is that south-west Greenland, which had not been considered a serious threat, now looks as if it will become a major future contributor to sea-level rise. 01/22/19 https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-46960842

Ultimately, it will get much worse than even the climate change advocates think.

Notice what Jesus said:

And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven… And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of heaven will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory (Luke 21:11, 25-27).

Now, the changes that the politicized climate change advocates are proposing will not stop this.

While pollution reductions are always a good thing, the climate change advocates essentially have a societal agenda that will not work.

The Continuing Church of God has the following sermon at its ContinuingCOG channel:

1:11:07

Christians and the Environment

How should Christians view the environment? Does the Bible give any clues? Did God make the earth good? Does the Bible give clues to prevent environmental problems? What are some of the effects of air, water, and land pollution? What will happen to the earth? How will Christians be involved? Does the Bible have warnings for those that are destroying the Earth?Dr. Thiel addresses these and other points.

Here is a link to the sermon:  Christians and the Environment.

However, some religious leaders have essentially gone so far as to promote their climate change agendas as a real gospel, but that is false. We made the following videos:

A Different False Gospel

While there have been a variety of false gospels since at least the time of Simon Magus and the Gnostics, there is a relatively new one being pushed by major leaders of the world’s churches. Essentially, leaders are teaching that ‘climate change’ is related to salvation, the unpardonable sin, and something called the ‘social gospel.’ This is being pushed by leaders including Pope Francis of the Church of Rome, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew of the Eastern Orthodox Church, and Olav Tveit of the World Council of Churches. Is this a false gospel consistent with Galatians 1:6-11? Are these angels of light or something else (cf. 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 )? While it is good to not pollute, will the ecumenical climate change agenda work according to the Bible? Dr. Thiel address these issues and more.

The ‘Unpardonable Sin’ and ‘Climate Change’?

On September 7, 2016, Olav Fykse Tveit, Church of Norway Pastor, and the General Secretary of the World Council of Churches, essentially declared that those who ignore ‘climate change’ are committing the ‘unpardonable sin’ against the Holy Spirit. Are those two even related? In this video, Dr. Thiel answers that and explains from the Bible what the ‘unpardonable sin’ is and how you can avoid it. He also discusses aspects of Christianity and the environment.

This false gospel is one that does not involve repentance towards God, does not require accepting Jesus as the only name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), nor does it embrace “the faith once delivered to the saints.”

The UN, Vatican, and others are promoting a worldly view that without repentance, but through international cooperation of unconverted leaders, the world will be able to solve its problems.

While trying to pollute less is a proper goal, the Bible shows that what the UN and others are working towards will not succeed.

Twice the Bible warns:

There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death. (Proverbs 14:12, 16:25)

Australia has been dealing with a heat wave this month, with more expected tomorrow:

Decades-old temperature records are set to topple on Thursday, with a predicted top of 45C for Adelaide and higher in other areas — but Ceduna is already breaking records.

The regional town set a new, road-melting heat record of 48.4C on Wednesday. The old top was 47.9C, set on January 2, 1990. …

The city’s emergency services and healthcare system are bracing for Thursday’s expected heat

Other suburbs and towns with record temperatures likely to fall on Thursday include Clare, Parafield, Kuitpo, Noarlunga, Mt Barker, Edinburgh, Eudunda, Snowtown, Maitland and Port Pirie. …

SA Health chief medical officer Paddy Phillips said the heatwave would be worse than last week’s, when some parts of the state recorded four days above 40C.

“In last week’s heatwave we saw 69 people present to hospitals across the state with heat-related conditions and 31 … were admitted,” he said. 01/22/19 https://www.adelaidenow.com.au/news/south-australia/adelaidesa-weather-this-weeks-heatwave-will-bring-temperatures-to-45c-maybe-even-topping-record-461c/news-story/4ed6072b668376cbd25c593f73e6cf16

As far as the ecological situation, the Bible shows that ‘global warming’ will get much worse:

8 Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and power was given to him to scorch men with fire. 9 And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory. (Revelation 16:8-9)

However, the above prophecy is for several years into the future–we are not too near that yet. But COP24 will not prevent this from happening.

Furthermore, with international efforts to push towards globalism, often now without the USA, the world will create something claimed to fulfill the vision of Pope Francis, Europe, and the UN. But that will not bring lasting peace–it will end in death and destruction.

Jesus will have to stop humanity from destroying all life:

21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened. (Matthew 24:21-22).

15 Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!”

16 And the twenty-four elders who sat before God on their thrones fell on their faces and worshiped God, 17 saying: “We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty, The One who is and who was and who is to come, Because You have taken Your great power and reigned. 18 The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, And the time of the dead, that they should be judged, And that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints, And those who fear Your name, small and great, And should destroy those who destroy the earth.” (Revelation 11:15-18)

The Bible is clear that a new world will then come, led by the returning Jesus.

That will be the millennial Kingdom of God, not the contents of the Vatican’s Laudato Si or something like what the COP24 agreement has.

Jesus will fix the environmental and other problems that the world is unwilling to properly fix now.
