The European Union is moving ahead with its plans to remove more migrants from its territories:
EU moves toward creating overseas ‘return hubs’ for migrants

European lawmakers have endorsed the opening of talks with the EU Council on a controversial legal framework to establish block-wide mechanisms to expel illegal migrants, including the creation of ‘return hubs’ in third countries.
The idea to create de facto detention facilities outside of the EU’s borders to hold migrants deemed to have no right to stay has been opposed by rights groups and pro-migration political parties.
Under the proposed Return Regulation, which is still in the early stages of the legislative process, people marked for deportation in the EU will be sent to overseas return hubs rather than staying within the bloc as they await expulsion.
Critics say the scheme is intended to disappear irregular migrants and failed asylum seekers into a “legal black hole.”
The proposed reform went to a plenary vote on Thursday after three left-wing parties, the S&D, the Greens/EFA, and the Left, each filed requests for it. The groups sought to challenge a decision by the Civil Liberties Committee earlier this month, when it approved the proposed legislation to enter into interinstitutional negotiations.

EU Parliament approves controversial bill to increase migrant returns
MEPs approved a law enabling member states to build deportation centres outside the EU, endorsing talks with non-recognised third-country entities and imposing entry bans on returned migrants.
The European Parliament approved on Thursday a law aimed at speeding up the return of irregular migrants in larger numbers by building deportation centres outside the EU, alongside stricter rules reflecting a shift in political priorities as Europe pivots to the right.
The law will also increase the legal detention period to up to two years and impose practically unlimited entry bans in the EU on the returned people.
The “return regulation” is considered crucial to increasing the return rate of people with no legal right to stay in the EU and is seen as the cornerstone of a fresh European push to crack down on irregular migration.

What the EU is doing is consistent with what Donald Trump was doing in his first term by having migrants not enter the USA, but stay in Mexico.
Now one country in the EU without major migrant issues is Hungary.
It came up with an unusual policy.
In 2015, Hungary built a border fence a couple of yards/meters inside of its borders.
It then essentially told potential migrants to stay in that area while their asylum or other immigrant claims were reviewed. This way, it technically met certain EU guidelines about letting asylum seekers in the country, but really kept them outside.
With no access to food or services there, migrants quickly concluded it was too difficult to get into Hungary and chose easier nations.
Hungary also has resisted EU pleas to take in migrants.

Several European countries have taken notably hard or restrictive stances on accepting migrants and asylum seekers, though the degree and type of “hardness” varies (legal limits, physical barriers, detention policies, or political rhetoric). Here are some of the most prominent:
Central & Eastern Europe (generally the toughest bloc)
Hungary

Let me add that the rise of the AfD party in Germany has been a factor in Germany taking/supporting anti-migrant policies.
The idea of return hubs has a lot of support among EU nations. Notice something from last December:

After the European Union significantly tightened its immigration policy earlier this month, 19 EU countries on Wednesday urged the European Commission to finance “return hubs” outside the bloc for failed asylum-seekers.
Interior ministers from the 27-member bloc greenlighted a package of measures on December 8 that include the opening of return hubs and harsher penalities for migrants who refuse to leave European territory.
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania and Sweden called on the Commission to make the changes possible.
“Specifically, the EU countries want … the Commission to help ensure, going forward, that the financing of, among other things, return centres can be done using EU funds,” the Danish immigration ministry said in a statement, with the signed letter sent to the Commission attached.
The European Parliament must still vote on the measures.

As long time readers of this COGwriter Church of God News page are aware, I have long stated that Europe would push out migrants, particularly Islamic ones.
So, what will happen?
Some migrants will be deported.
Germany has between 800,000 to 1,200,000 Syrian migrants/refugees, to name just one predominantly Islamic set of migrants.
They all do not want to return to Syria.
Notice the following prophecy involving Syrians:
12 The Syrians before and the Philistines behind; And they shall devour Israel with an open mouth. (Isaiah 9:12)
Syrian refugees are one potential problem. The Bible clearly is prophesying problems from some Syrians and some Palestinians. ‘Israel’ includes some of the nations in Europe, like France (see The ‘Lost Tribe’ of Reuben: France in Prophecy? and Anglo – America in Prophecy & the Lost Tribes of Israel).
Eventually, Europe will reach a breaking point and change. Many Europeans want major change now as the vote in the EU Parliament demonstrates.
If the EU goes and tries to push out a lot of migrants, there will be a lot of civil unrest and probably riots.
Islamic issues will be a factor in the rise of this Beast leader–the Bible shows that a European Beast leader will, after destroying the USA (Daniel 11:39), push against and overwhelm a power from the Middle East and North Africa (Daniel 11:40-43).
It should be noted that this Beast leader is NOT Russian (see also Is Russia the King of the North?). Despite claims from Protestant Joel Richardson, this Beast leader is NOT Islamic (see also Is There an Islamic Antichrist?).

The migrant situation in Europe will be a cause for more civil unrest. Civil unrest leads people to look for strong, and often dictatorial, leaders.
We continue to see Europe moving towards its biblically-revealed role.
And it will NOT end up with a democracy relatively soon.
