While the USA remains mainly focused on internal matters, the European Union is working on expanding its military abilities. Notice the following posted at ZeroHedge:

European leaders have made plans this year to respond to these challenges. In March, a European Union summit pledged to spend billions on defense amid what EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen called “a watershed moment for Europe.”
EU-backed loans of up to 150 billion euros (160 billion dollars) have been made available to member states to beef up their forces, and Eurozone debt rules have been relaxed when applied to military spending. …
European countries do have highly effective air-launched cruise missiles, such as the Anglo-French Storm Shadow/Scalp missiles, or Germany’s Taurus system. Non-NATO member Ukraine has recently showcased its new Flamingo cruise missiles. …
“The European Long-Range Strike Approach (ELSA) project is potentially the most significant European effort to extend its conventional land-attack capability up to and perhaps beyond 2,000 km,” it adds.

So some say that the EU needs to spend the $1 trillion.

Interestingly, its President Ursula von der Leyen basically stated it would so so last March:

Ursula von der Leyen on Tuesday proposed a Rearm Europe Plan she said could see member states mobilise up to €800 billion to finance a massive ramp-up in defence spending, hours after Washington suspended all military aid to Ukraine putting pressure on the bloc to increase its own assistance.

At the latest exchange rate I checked with today, €800 billion = $931.68 billion, which is very close to $1 trillion.

Furthermore, at a conference in 2025, Herr Guttenberg referred to “bully Trump” and said Europe needed to be achieve an independent military defense so that it no longer needs to dependent on the USA (Winkler T. Geeint gegen den “Bully Trump.” MeinBezirk, January 9, 2025). An unintended consequence of Donald Trump’s presidency may be the rise of Barron Guttenberg. (p. 56)
Now, another reality is that there are many in Europe that wanted Donald Trump to win the 2024 election as they believe that will help motivate Europe to arm itself and become more independent of the USA (p. 58)
Many in the USA do not seem to realize that once Europeans are spending more for their militaries, they will also expect to have more independence from the USA as to how military might will be used. (p. 63)
While PESCO is not yet capable of eliminating the USA, in 2024 it reportedly was helping lay the groundwork which is “leading to greater European strategic autonomy independent of the United States.” (p. 115)
Chapter 11 of the Book of Daniel discusses various leaders, including those known as the King of the North and the King of the South. The one who will be the King of the North is prophesied to rise up “When the transgressors have reached their fullness” (Daniel 8:23), which suggests that this is about when God has had enough of the increasing immorality in nations like the USA and its British-descended allies. … the King of the North will do things that he had not told the USA he would do; … (p. 119)
This King will employ deceit:
21 … he shall come in peaceably, and seize the kingdom by intrigue. (Daniel 11:21)
23 “And in the latter time of their kingdom, When the transgressors have reached their fullness, A king shall arise, Having fierce features, Who understands sinister schemes. 24 His power shall be mighty, but not by his own power; He shall destroy fearfully, And shall prosper and thrive; He shall destroy the mighty, and also the holy people.
25 “Through his cunning he shall cause deceit to prosper under his rule; And he shall exalt himself in his heart. He shall destroy many in their prosperity. (Daniel 8:23-25)
The King of the North will deceitfully proclaim “peace and safety” while plotting for the sudden destruction of those opposing him (1 Thessalonians 5:2–3). He will destroy the mighty American-British alliance.
Because of not accepting and understanding biblical prophecies, many political and other leaders will be hoping for and believing in a false peace. The sudden destruction to come is likely to include a nuclear or other high tech attack, and could possibly happen in conjunction with a NATO training or other exercise that would catch the USA and its Anglo-Saxon-Celtic allies off guard. Other nations are likely to also be involved.
The USA will be attacked by “friends” consistent with the following:
1 How lonely sits the city
That was full of people!
How like a widow is she,
Who was great among the nations!
The princess among the provinces
Has become a slave!
2 She weeps bitterly in the night,
Her tears are on her cheeks;
Among all her lovers
She has none to comfort her.
All her friends have dealt treacherously with her;
They have become her enemies. cf. Lamentations 1:1-2).
Notice the one who was “great among the nations” will be conquered by friends, who will become enemies.
The USA was prophesied to be “great” in Genesis 48:19 and is considered by international sources to be great among the nations of the world today. … (pp. 139-141)
The time will come when the USA and NATO will be no more. NATO or other arrangements could give the Europeans cover for publicly preparing for a military event, while giving it the ability to publicly state that such preparations are only parts of an exercise. The Germans have historically used the element of surprise to gain military advantage—remember WWII and blitzkrieg? Europe one day will turn on the USA (Lamentations 1:1-2, Daniel 11:39; Isaiah 10:5-12). Weapons of mass destruction, and not necessarily just nuclear, will be employed. (p. 143)
While Donald Trump seems to believe that his policies are best for the United States, notice some unintended consequences of them: (p. 210)
Although, overall, the European nations have not paid for their defense to the amount they have suggested they would, pressuring them to spend more will 1) encourage them to be independent of the USA and 2) put Europe in a position where it has a great army (Daniel 11:25), many ships (Daniel 11:40), and access to nuclear weapons (cf. Deuteronomy 29:23-25; Isaiah 9:19-21;Ezekiel 6:6), which will help it conquer the USA, which is the military power with the strongest fortresses (cf. Daniel 11:39). (pp. 211-212)

Unintended consequences of Donald Trump’s statements and actions include the fact that Europe is arming, plans to arm more, wants to be militarily independent of the USA, and is not pleased with Donald Trump or the USA.

One day Europe will conquer the USA per biblical prophecies such as Daniel 11:39 and Isaiah 10:5-11.

For over a decade, I have warned that Europe may attack the USA under the guise of a NATO or some other military-related exercise. The Bible tells us that this coming European leader 21 … shall come in peaceably, and seize the kingdom by intrigue. (Daniel 11:21). That is consistent with what I have long warned. Being part of a NATO exercise that could be held in the USA would be a way to seemingly “come in peaceably.”

Europe is taking military steps which will one day allow it to do so.

“If we are not prepared to defend our continent, who are we as Europeans?” Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen asked.

Note that the objective is for Europe to be rearmed no later that 2030.

Consider also that on 25 February 2025, Germany’s then chancellor-elect Friedrich Merz pushed independence from the USA:

“My absolute priority will be to strengthen Europe as quickly as possible so that, step by step, we can really achieve independence from the USA,” Merz said Sunday.
Merz added, “I never thought I would have to say something like this on a television program. He was referring to both trade and military independence. The new reality is that the European Union is now focusing more on military spending and preparation for war without assistance from the USA.
