There have long been concerns in Europe about Hungary’s Viktor Orban. Notice the following from ZeroHedge:

Is The EU Preparing For Regime-Change In Hungary?

Apparently, the EU is planning to further tighten its interventionist measures in the internal affairs of member countries. According to information recently shared by Russian authorities, European political elites are planning a regime change in Hungary – a country that has stood out for leading a dissident position within the European bloc. This case is particularly serious because it highlights the absolute lack of political freedom for EU member states.
The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) revealed that it has information proving that EU authorities are planning a color revolution in Hungary. The goal is to remove Viktor Orban and his allies from power and replace them with a public figure more aligned with the interests of the Collective West – particularly regarding the Ukrainian conflict and sanctions against Russia.
According to the SVR, the European Commission considers the current Hungarian government’s foreign policy to be too independent – that is, not integrated with the EU’s international guidelines. For this reason, a regime change would be the only way to realign Hungarian national interests with the European bloc’s foreign policy objectives. In this regard, a Russian security agency clearly states that European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen “is seriously studying regime change scenarios” in Hungary.
One of von der Leyen’s plans would allegedly be to bring to power Peter Magyar, leader of the Tisza Party and one of Orban’s most vocal opponents. The SVR describes Magyar as “loyal to globalist elites,” which is why he is considered to become the next prime minister if the plan to oust Orban is successful. The EU initially plans to finalize this plan during next year’s parliamentary elections; however, the SVR believes that, if circumstances favor it, the EU could begin acting this year, advancing its regime change plans. https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/eu-preparing-regime-change-hungary

I interpret the two-thirds victory we won in 2010 as our being mandated to bring to an end two chaotic decades of transition and to build a new system. In the economy this is embodied in a Hungarian model, and in politics it is embodied in a new constitutional order – a new constitutional order based on national and Christian foundations. Our two-thirds victory in 2014 mandated us to consolidate this system. …
Looking back over the past year, I can tell you that we have seen the successful stabilisation of a political system based on national and Christian foundations. The foundations seem to be solid and durable, so it is not unreasonable for us to designate the task for the coming four years as the building of an era. …
Regarding the coming year, Ladies and Gentlemen, I can tell you that if we take a look at Europe, we can see that it was once a great civilisation. Europe was once a power centre that shaped the world. This was so because it dared to think, it dared to act, it was brave, and it embarked upon great endeavours. If we look at one civilisation or another from a spiritual perspective – and there is a branch of literature devoted to this – we can conclude that civilisations are comprised of four things. Civilisations are entities of a spiritual nature. They are formed from the spirit of religion, the spirit of creative arts, the spirit of research and the spirit of business enterprise. These are the spirits that can form a civilisation. If now we look at our Europe, in terms of the spirit of religion we see that it has rejected its Christian foundations. In terms of the spirit of creative arts we see that there is censorship, and political correctness is forced upon us. In terms of the spirit of research, we can say that the US has overtaken our Europe, and soon China will also have done so. …
Now we should ask ourselves why the European elite – which today is exclusively a liberal elite – has failed.
Open-society Europe
The answer to this question – or at least this is where I look for the answer – is that first of all it has rejected its roots, and instead of a Europe resting on Christian foundations, it is building a Europe of “the open society”. In Christian Europe there was honour in work, man had dignity, men and women were equal, the family was the basis of the nation, the nation was the basis of Europe, and states guaranteed security. In today’s open-society Europe there are no borders; European people can be readily replaced with immigrants; the family has been transformed into an optional, fluid form of cohabitation; the nation, national identity and national pride are seen as negative and obsolete notions; and the state no longer guarantees security in Europe. In fact, in liberal Europe being European means nothing at all: it has no direction, and it is simply form devoid of content. …
In the European Parliament election, the great goal of transforming Europe and moving it towards a post-Christian and post-national era could be blocked, Ladies and Gentlemen. And it is in our fundamental interest to block it. …
Calmly, and with restraint and composure, we must say that the generation of the ’90s is arriving to replace the generation of ’68. In European politics it is the turn of the anti-communist generation, which has Christian convictions and commitment to the nation. Thirty years ago we thought that Europe was our future. Today we believe that we are Europe’s future. To recap that in other words, Viktor Orban was saying his government got the Hungarian constitution changed to embrace his view of Christianity and this is working. He blames the turning away from that, on a continental-basis, for Europe’s problem. For the future, he believes Europe should embrace the Greco-Roman version of Christianity as the best way forward. And that immigrants who do not share those values are not what Europe needs.

Many in the EU actually agree with a lot of that, though many of its politicians do not.

Hungary Claims EU Rulers Want To Overthrow 3 Governments

The European Union is attempting to topple the governments of Hungary, Slovakia, and Serbia for prioritizing national interests over alignment with Brussels, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto has claimed. “Brussels has ceased to be a factor in world politics,” Szijjarto explained. …
According to a report by RT, these comments were made in a Facebook post on Thursday after phone calls with Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar and Serbia’s top diplomat, Marko Duric. Szijjarto said that they agreed to strengthen their stance on sovereignty and pledged mutual solidarity amid what they described as growing external pressure.
It’s “clearer than daylight” that “external intervention experiments to destabilize and overthrow governments are taking place in Central Europe against the patriot Slovak, Hungarian, and Serbian governments,” he added.

Vucic accused the anti-government demonstrators of “pure terrorism” and reiterated his claims that months of persistent protests against his rule have been orchestrated in the West and aimed at destroying Serbia.
“Our country is in grave danger, they have jeopardized all our values, normal life, each individual,” Vucic said, alleging an elaborate scheme that would eventually install “anarcho-leftist” authorities in the future. …
“You will witness the determination of the state of Serbia,” Vucic said. “We will use everything at our disposal to restore peace and order in the country.” …
Serbia is formally seeking EU membership, but Vucic has maintained strong ties with Russia and China. So, why is it that the leaders of Hungary, Serbia, and Slovakia might be targeted by the EU?

Well, one commonality is that they all advocate improved relations with Russia.

While Slovakia was initially highly involved in supporting Ukraine against Russia’s Special Military Operation, after an election, the leadership changed. The current government is led by Robert Fico who has expressed a desire for a peaceful resolution with the Ukraine conflict and has held talks with Vladimir Putin.

Yet, ultimately, despite current EU attitudes about Russia, I believe that the European Union will end up making a deal with Russia.

That said, the Bible points to Europe having unity problems, yet it will maintain a type of unity for a time:

41 Whereas you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter’s clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; yet the strength of the iron shall be in it, just as you saw the iron mixed with ceramic clay. 42 And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile. 43 As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay. (Daniel 2:41-43)

So, unity issues in Europe were prophesied, as was expansion.

Notice that, in Daniel 8, the Bible prophesied that a little horn would mainly expand South and East:

9 And out of one of them came a little horn which grew exceedingly great toward the south, toward the east, and toward the Glorious Land. 10 And it grew up to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and some of the stars to the ground, and trampled them. 11 He even exalted himself as high as the Prince of the host; and by him the daily sacrifices were taken away, and the place of His sanctuary was cast down. 12 Because of transgression, an army was given over to the horn to oppose the daily sacrifices; and he cast truth down to the ground. He did all this and prospered. (Daniel 8:9-12).

And while the above has had a past fulfillment, this prophecy seems to be dual (compare with Daniel 11:27-39). The European Union has mainly expanded south and east of the Benelux nations (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg)–which is where it initially formed.

Serbia is south and east of the Benelux nations. So are Hungary and Slovakia, but they are already in the EU.

Currently, approximately 450 million people are now under a new, single (though not completely united) government, called the European Union, headquartered in Brussels.

Those groups (such as PCG and LCG) that tend to insist that the final European Beast power will only have ten or eleven nations may be caught unexpectedly (cf. Luke 21:34) if the final Beast power has more (the European Union currently has dozens of members. See also Must the Ten Kings of Revelation 17:12 Rule over Ten Currently Existing Nations?)

In the old Radio Church of God, the late evangelist Dr. Hoeh taught that this little horn of Daniel 8 was the power that would become the final King of the North:

Turn in your Bible to verse 9: “And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.” …
The King of the North
The little horn in Daniel 8 is none other than the LAST KING of one of the four divisions of Alexander’s Empire. He is, in fact, the final “King of the North” described in Daniel 11. (Hoeh H. The 2300 Days. Plain Truth, August 1965)

The European Union has demonstrated a history and willingness to enlarge–and it is interested in Serbia, the rest of the Balkan nations, Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia.

A forced unity will be put in place (cf. Revelation 13) and the Bible clearly shows that a reorganization will come to Europe and power will be given to a dictator:

12 “The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. (Revelation 17:12-13)

Europe will one day support a dictatorial strongman. The Bible calls him the Beast that arises from the Sea (Revelation 13:1-10) and the King of the North (Daniel 11:40).

When the time comes for the final Beast leader to arise, he will most likely be at least partially German, as all the leaders of the old Holy Roman Empire were as well.

Many Europeans will get sufficiently frustrated with democracy (as well as will be deceived by various signs and lying wonders–2 Thessalonians 2:8-12) that they will support a dictatorial leader over Europe.

Anyway, Europe needs repentance and the Kingdom of God.

But it is prophesied to move to become a dictatorship first.

We will see more steps towards that in the next several years.
