Today, massive celebrations are being held across the USA to mark the 250th anniversary of the adopting its Declaration of Independence (though some events have been cancelled due to high heat in places).

United States President Donald Trump has used the opening weekend of the nation’s 250th anniversary celebrations to praise the US military and critique democratic socialists, warning of a “communist menace” that he claims poses a major threat to the country.
Speaking beneath the granite monument at Mount Rushmore on the eve of Independence Day on July 4, Trump invoked national identity and ideology ahead of the November midterm elections.
“We created the strongest and most powerful military. We won two world wars,” he said, claiming that the Cold War had left the US’s enemies “in the depths of history”. …
A larger chunk of Trump’s address was focused on what he considers ideological threats at home.
“There is now a resurgence of the communist menace in our land, including from newcomers to our country who embrace ideas totally opposed to our way of life,” the president said, calling communism “the enemy of the Constitution”.
He pledged that “the citizens of the United States of America will vanquish communism quickly.”
Trump tied his anti-communist rhetoric to a hardline immigration stance, suggesting that left-wing political figures and certain undocumented arrivals should be removed from the country.
His remarks followed a string of recent progressive primary victories in US states including New York, Colorado and Texas.

The “democratic socialists” have recently had a string of electoral victories–and they do hold positions consistent with many communists.

Pressed by host Rob Finnerty on New York’s political shift, Giuliani said the city he ran from 1994 to 2001 is unrecognizable under Mamdani, who was sworn in as the 112th mayor and openly identifies as a democratic socialist.
Finnerty told Giuliani, “We have a communist mayor in New York City.”

The United States was prophesied to be great in the 48th chapter of the Book of Genesis –here is a link to a post I made yesterday on that: 47% of Americans surveyed did not know what the 4th of July celebrates, whereas the vast majority do not realize why the USA was prophesied to be a great nation .

Jesus warned:

48 … For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more. (Luke 12:48)

That is something Americans should give more consideration to.

The same Bible that promised blessings to the descendants of Joseph (which includes the United States) also promised cursings for disobedience. Notice the following:

1 Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. 2 And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God:

7 “The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.

14 ‘But if you do not obey Me, and do not observe all these commandments,
15 and if you despise My statutes, or if your soul abhors My judgments, so that you do not perform all My commandments, but break My covenant,
16 I also will do this to you:
I will even appoint terror over you (Leviticus 26:14-16)

The hyperpartisianism that George Washington warned about has greatly increased in the 21st century.

That, along with the increased despising of the word of God (cf. Isaiah 30:12-14), are contributing to the dangerous divide in the USA.

Jesus warned:

25 … Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand. (Matthew 12:25)
24 If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25 And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. (Mark 3:24-25)
17 … Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and a house divided against a house falls. (Luke 11:17)

The division will not end well for the USA (see also Isaiah 10:5-11; Daniel 11:39; Habakkuk 2:6-8).

That said, yes there will be massive celebrations across many parts of the USA.

And while people will get together and appear united in celebrations such as watching parades and fireworks, the division is real.

All should take Jesus’ warnings about division to heart.
