Denmark Creates ‘Night Watch’ To Monitor Donald Trump Over Greenland Fears

Denmark’s government has set up a night watch alert system to monitor comments that President Donald Trump might make about Greenland, it has been reported.
The Danish foreign ministry has a team working shifts to keep tabs on any pronouncements the U.S. president might make about the autonomous territory, which is part of the Kingdom of Denmark, according to the Danish newspaper Politiken.
Rasmus Sinding Søndergaard, an expert on Danish-U.S. relations, told Newsweek the Danish government and Danish authorities remained very concerned about what Trump might do next in relation to Greenland. …
The newspaper said the policy has emerged after Trump’s statements that he would not rule out military or economic coercion to gain control of Greenland, a mineral-rich island which sits at the heart of the Arctic region contested by the U.S., Russia and China.
Copenhagen has repeatedly insisted that Greenland “is not for sale,” and Greenlanders themselves oppose the move, but the reported alert system shows the diplomatic reality faced by Denmark, and other countries, to the Trump administration. https://www.newsweek.com/denmark-trump-greenland-fears-11124683
Donald Trump is shaking up a lot of nations. While he may think all that he does is good, or even great, the fact is that there will be many unintended consequences of his statements, threats, and policies.
He is pushing away allies and offending a lot of them. More and more are seeing him act as a bully–and the European Union is taking steps.

Related to Greenland and Europe, here is something I posted here last January:
Donald Trump’s foreign policy statements have unsettled many—in the USA as well as foreign nations. He is believed by many to be more unpredictable than Richard Nixon. Many have rightly pointed out that he often acts as a bully.
Greenland
There is also something referred to as the “law of unintended consequences.” There are consequences for the USA, Europe, and elsewhere that have and will occur because of Donald Trump’s statements and actions.
Consider, for one example, that after his reelection, Donald Trump stated that the United States needed to have Greenland for defense and economic purposes. Not only did that offend the governments of Denmark and Greenland, the Danish government then announced that it would greatly increase the amount of money it would spend on the defense of Greenland.[i]
On January 7, 2025, Donald Trump refused to rule out military or economic actions to acquire Greenland.[ii] The next day, European leaders warned they would not tolerate an attack on Greenland and that the continent of Europe was strong.[iii]
Donald Trump then stated he would implement high tariffs against Denmark to try to get it to sell Greenland to the USA.
However, that overlooks the fact that the European Union has its Anti-Coercion Instrument, which is designed to stop a foreign power from trying to punish one EU nation. Because of that, analysts report that punitive tariffs against Denmark “could lead to unintended consequences” from the EU against the USA.[iv]
One longer term consequence of Donald Trump’s rhetoric may be that the Europeans could decide that Greenland would be a useful place to conduct surveillance on the US and Canada.
Additionally, it is also possible that Greenland could be used as a base to 1) interfere with US military satellite communications, 2) possibly neutralize some US military moves in Greenland, or even 3) a place to also launch an attack against the US, Canada, and/or even the UK. The Bible teaches about a great power who will be destroyed by its friends, who become enemies (Lamentations 1:1-2)—some statements by Donald Trump are pushing “friends” (NATO allies) into being enemies. …
The USA will be attacked by “friends” consistent with the following:
1 How lonely sits the city
That was full of people!How like a widow is she,
Who was great among the nations!The princess among the provinces Has become a slave!
2 She weeps bitterly in the night,
Her tears are on her cheeks;
Among all her lovers
She has none to comfort her.All her friends have dealt treacherously with her;
They have become her enemies. cf. Lamentations 1:1-2).Notice the one who was “great among the nations” will be conquered by friends, who will become enemies.
The USA was prophesied to be “great” in Genesis 48:19 and is considered by international sources to be great among the nations of the world today.[v]

Yes, the Bible teaches about a great power who will be destroyed by its friends, who become enemies (Lamentations 1:1-2). Donald Trump offending the Europeans is leading to that.
And prophetically, a more militarized Greenland could play a role.
