EU must become a ‘genuine federation’ to avoid deindustrialisation and decline, Draghi says

The former Italian prime minister said the European Union risks subordination, division and deindustrialision all at once if it does not pull closer together.
“Europe risks becoming subordinated, divided, and deindustrialised”, if it does not turn itself into a “genuine federation”, Former Italian Prime Minister and President of the European Central Bank Mario Draghi said in a speech at the Belgian Ku Leuven University on Monday.
According to Draghi, “power requires Europe to move from confederation to federation” because the global order is “now defunct”.
In his speech, delivered as he received an honorary degree from the university, Draghi painted a picture of a failed global order, tracing its decline to China’s joining the World Trade Organisation and Western countries beginning to trade with a state “with ambitions to become a separate pole itself”.
This, he said, set the stage for “the political backlash we now face” and ultimately produced “a world with less trade and weaker rules” – painful, but not a threat in itself.
“The threat is what replaces it”, Draghi said, pointing to a shift in the United States. “The US is imposing tariffs on Europe, threatening our territorial interests, and making clear, for the first time, that it sees European political fragmentation as serving its interests.”
Faced with the US’s efforts to combine partnership with dominance, and China sustaining its growth model by exporting its costs onto others, the EU must significantly change its structure, Draghi said, warning that “grouping together small countries does not automatically produce a powerful bloc”.
He argued that in areas where Europe has “federated” – trade, competition, the single market, monetary policy – it is “respected as a power and [can] negotiate as one”. …
“Of all those now caught between the US and China, Europeans alone have the option to become a genuine power themselves. So we must decide: do we remain merely a large market, subject to the priorities of others? Or do we take the steps necessary to become one power?”

Other European leaders also want Europe to reorganize (e.g. Europeans want military independence from the USA, and some are calling for reorganization and EU needs regulatory reorganization to be a ‘true single market’).

Europe is prophesied to reorganize and put into power a dictator.

Notice that the Bible shows that the time will come when Europe will reorganize and turn power over to a dictator called the beast below:

12 “The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. (Revelation 17:12-13)

This will NOT be a democracy.

And we see that this Beast will arise with support of ten who will have been given power in a reorganization.

In the Book of Revelation, let’s look at the following verses which precede the reorganization:

8 The beast that you saw was, and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to perdition. And those who dwell on the earth will marvel, whose names are not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, when they see the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
9 “Here is the mind which has wisdom: The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits. 10 There are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, and the other has not yet come. And when he comes, he must continue a short time. 11 The beast that was, and is not, is himself also the eighth, and is of the seven, and is going to perdition. (Revelation 17:8-11)

Europe to Expand and Reorganize?
In September 2023, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen gave her annual State of the European Union speech. It was a motivational speech to push Europeans to support bold moves for expansion, trade, and international influence. She also mentioned Europe’s Global Gateway project as well as her involvement in getting the G20 to go for the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC). Several days after her speech, a report titled Sailing on High Seas: Reforming and Enlarging the EU for the 21st Century put out by Europeans from Germany and France, called for an overhaul of the European Union so that it could manage expanding to over 30 nations. Since the Donald Trump tariff announcements, the European Union is even more focused on being its own power independent of the United States.

Europe will reorganize per Revelation 17:12-13 and become a military power per Revelation 13:3-4 and Daniel 11:39-43.

While the EU has been estranged from Russia since Russia’s ‘special military operation’ in Ukraine, more voices in Europe are saying that should change:

The European Union needs a direct channel of communication with Russia, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot has said. The bloc has refused to communicate with Moscow for four years, folllowing the escalation of the Ukraine conflict.
The remarks echo growing concern among EU members that their influence has been reduced by US President Donald Trump, who for months has sought to broker an end to the Ukraine conflict through direct talks with both Kiev and Moscow. French President Emmanuel Macron and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni have called on the EU to appoint a special envoy to Russia to ensure the bloc has a seat at the table.
In an interview with Liberation published on Sunday, Barrot said France had “never ruled out, in principle, engaging with Russia,” provided such talks were conducted transparently with Ukraine and the EU and were “beneficial.” …
EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, however, has ruled out any direct talks with Moscow, saying last month the bloc has nothing to “offer” Russia and will instead rely on “more pressure” over negotiations. She dismissed reopening diplomatic channels, arguing that US concessions to Ukraine are already significant and the EU has no leverage to entice Moscow.

Despite some in the EU not wanting to talk with Russia, the EU will. And yes, this is partially because of US President Donald Trump.

The Russians clearly have wanted to speak and cooperate with the Europeans. And yes, this is partially because the Russians would like USA influence reduced–and Europe will do that more than most Russians probably think is possible (cf. Daniel 11:39; Revelation 13:3-4).

Back in 1962, notice something that the old Radio Church of God published:
