This is a September 2026 sermon related to the Feast of Trumpets. On the Feast of Trumpets in 1979, the late John Ogywn gave a sermon titled 'The Meaning of the Feast of Trumpets.' But this was different than other Church of God related sermons, as it included many 'trumpet' warnings, like to 'cry aloud,' to the Church of God. This sermon, by Dr. Thiel, includes many of his comments and quotes many of the scriptures that were in that sermon. Specific statements related to WWI, WWII, and WWIII and connecting them to Daniel 11:24 were also included. John Ogwyn warned Christians to support the watchman work, not to fall away, not to be Laodicean, and not focus on sight. He asserted that Nimrod was the first 'Pontifex Maximus' and a Roman Catholic pope would be the false prophet. He also said that there would be a 'Zerubbabel' with a line measuring the Church of God. John Ogywn mentioned persecutions to hit the Laodiceans as well as national desolations to hit the USA and its British-descended allies and that Lamentations warns of future cannibalism. Discussions of aspects of the seals of Revelation, the sorrows in the Gospels, the Great Tribulation, the Day of the Lord, the seven trumpets, the two witnesses, the three woes, and the seven last plagues were covered, as well as pointing on some reasons why there is a gap between the Feast of Trumpets and the Day of Atonement in the month of Tishri. Some Jewish traditions related to the Book of Life and redemption when the Messiah comes were mentioned. Scriptures related to the place of protection for Philadelphians, seven trumpets, the return of Jesus, nations fighting, Armageddon, and the resurrection of the saints were quoted. The fact that Jesus would return with the seventh trumpet was emphasized.
