The Vice Chancellor and Minister of Economic Affairs of Germany is warning against a Donald Trump presidency:

German vice chancellor says Trump poses threat to peace and prosperity

March 6, 2016

BERLIN German Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel has criticized leading Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump as a right-wing populist whose political views pose a threat to peace and prosperity.

The comments by Gabriel, economy minister and leader of the Social Democrats, are the clearest sign yet that ruling politicians in Europe are increasingly worried about the outcome of the U.S. presidential elections.

“Whether Donald Trump, Marine le Pen or Geert Wilders – all these right-wing populists are not only a threat to peace and social cohesion, but also to economic development,” Gabriel told Welt am Sonntag newspaper in an interview published on Sunday.

Gabriel said that Trump and France’s Le Pen were promising voters “a way back into a fairytale world” in which economic activity only happened within national borders but that history has shown such isolated economies have no chance to develop.

“We have to make the effort to explain how we want to shape globalisation in a fair way,” Gabriel said. http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-election-trump-germany-idUSMTZSAPEC36LTD4ZC

As I have been warning for some time, many Europeans see Donald Trump as a threat.

Consider that the German Vice Chancellor does not like Donald Trump’s positions on trade and that he wants “globalisation in a fair way,” in other words, he wants Germany to be able to negotiate trade agreements like Germany wants, not what someone focused on the interests of the USA wants.

The Bible tells of a vast economic power that will rise up in Europe and cause many to prosper (Revelation 18).  Many in Europe in general, and Germany in particular, are working towards that goal, despite biblical warnings of being part of it (e.g. Revelation 18:4).

Donald Trump’s bombastic style and many of his statements are offensive to the Europeans (watch also the video Could Donald Trump be Apocalyptic?). In December 2015, former German Defense MinisterKarl-Theodor zu Guttenberg called Donald Trump “that blonde lunatic named Donald” (Wish List or Reality? Digital Trends in 2016 | Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg | hub conference. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgdZUA96UBU. Posted December 11, 2015).

Consider also that Europe really does depend on the USA for military protection against places like Russia. If the Europeans believe that they cannot trust a President of the United States, then leaders there will conclude they have no choice but to better arm themselves.  And when you consider that the Europeans believe that the Snowden leaks prove that the USA views them as second or third class, spies on them for military and economic reasons, and that the USA wants to focus its military on Asia, and that the USA is essentially bankrupt, more in Europe will want a militaristic leader who will promise peace and prosperity.

Notice that the Bible tells of a time of a vile leader:

21 And in his place shall arise a vile person, to whom they will not give the honor of royalty; but he shall come in peaceably, and seize the kingdom by intrigue. 22 With the force of a flood they shall be swept away from before him and be broken, and also the prince of the covenant. 23 And after the league is made with him he shall act deceitfully, for he shall come up and become strong with a small number of people. 24 He shall enter peaceably, even into the richest places of the province; and he shall do what his fathers have not done, nor his forefathers: he shall disperse among them the plunder, spoil, and riches; and he shall devise his plans against the strongholds, but only for a time. (Daniel 11:21-24)

So, this leader will promise peace and prosperity. He will make a deal with a small amount of people to gain power (cf. Revelation 17:12-13). This prophesied leader is NOT Donald Trump, yet the fact that many think he possibly could become the next USA President is worrying many in Europe about the USA.

Anyway, this prophesied European vile leader, who appears at the “appointed time” of “the end,” is described in Daniel 8:

19 And he said, “Look, I am making known to you what shall happen in the latter time of the indignation; for at the appointed time the end shall be…23 “And in the latter time of their kingdom, When the transgressors have reached their fullness, A king shall arise, Having fierce features, Who understands sinister schemes. 24 His power shall be mighty, but not by his own power; He shall destroy fearfully, And shall prosper and thrive; He shall destroy the mighty, and also the holy people. 25 “Through his cunning He shall cause deceit to prosper under his rule; And he shall exalt himself in his heart. He shall destroy many in their prosperity. He shall even rise against the Prince of princes; But he shall be broken without human means. 26 “And the vision of the evenings and mornings Which was told is true; Therefore seal up the vision, For it refers to many days in the future.” (Daniel 8:19,23-26)

This King (called the King of the North in Daniel 11:40) is also the “Beast” that the ten kings give their power to in Revelation 17:12-13 (see also Must the Ten Kings of Revelation 17:12 Rule over Ten Currently Existing Nations?).

But notice the portion of Daniel 8:23 that I bolded above. This King rises up when the transgressors have reached their fullness, which suggests that this is about when God has had enough of the increasing immorality in nations like the U.S.A. as well as in Europe. Immorality is increasing in the Western lands, and will get to the point that the King of the North will rise up.

The Bible teaches that the Europeans will embrace such a militaristic leader (Revelation 13:4; 17:12-13). If Donald Trump actually becomes the President of the United States, this would be expected to accelerate Europe’s desire for such a leader.

Despite what many think, people often will go for a ‘strongman’ in times of crisis. We are seeing some of that in the USA in this presidential cycle, and definitely will see something happen this century in Europe to turn to such a leader.
