U.S. Has Established a State Religion: What Now for Christians?
By Fay Voshell
The rainbow colors lighting up the White House immediately after the Supreme Court’s decision to legalize gay marriage seem to indicate loyalty to a new flag of faith that signifies supremacy over the traditional stars and stripes of the American flag — or any other flag, including the Christian banner. ... read full article
On Sunday, the Hungarians re-elected Viktor Orban as their Prime Minister. Some see his victory as a sign that “strongmen” will rise up in Europe. At least one, called the Beast, will do so according to Bible prophecy (Revelation 17:12-13). Viktor Orban sees “sees himself as a defender of “Christian” Europe”.
Last Friday, the Temple Institute discussed the reading of passages in the Old Testament regarding a female cow called a red heifer. It said that it is monitoring various candidates. It erroneously claims that ‘the fate of the world’ depends on the red heifer. Well, the fate of the world depends on God intervening to stop humanity from destroying itself (cf. Mark 13:19-20). That being said, the sermonette recommended for this Sabbath is related to this: Red Heifers and the Fate of the World.
YouTube has been suspending more and more channels it does not care for. Notice the following from Idaho Republican Congressional candidate Michael Synder:
Donald Trump’s announcement about imposing tariffs on steel and aluminum have shaken parts of the world and upset the Europeans. The Europeans have proposed retaliatory steps. We look to see the start of ‘trade wars.’ As most of you realize that subject was the cover article of the last edition of our Bible News Prophecy magazine. Here is a link to the: the January-March 2018 edition of Bible News Prophecy magazine.
The European Union (EU) and the United Kingdom (UK) are having difficulties in negotiating Britain’s exit from the EU (see Talks seem to suggest a relatively ‘hard’ Brexit). The EU has laid out a position that the UK says is unacceptable as it interferes with its sovereignty (see EU is Brexit ready, UK is not). Expect that the EU will remain upset with the UK, well after Brexit.
An advisor to Pope Francis declared that China was the nation that was best implementing Catholic policies and should be an example for the rest of the world (see Vatican’s China plans considered a betrayal by many–but is China the nation that is ‘best implementing the social doctrine of the Church’?). Many, in and out of China, do not see it that way. And many are upset about a proposed Vatican agreement with China that basically will recognize Chinese state control over the Roman Catholic Church in that land ...
Pope Francis continues to push his ‘Marian’ and ecumenical agendas. As part of the latter, he basically betrayed Roman Catholics in China who tried to be more loyal to the Vatican than the Chinese government. Pope Francis decided to placate the Chinese government and allow it select/approve bishops
US President Trump was in Davos, Switzerland to speak at the World Economic Forum (see Davos, Trump, Trade, and Brexit). Although he was reasonably well received there, many are concerned about his future trade policies. He alluded to some of them in his State of the Union address last night (see Trump’s ‘State of the Union’ raised trade war concerns). Various US trading partners are not pleased. This will not end well for the USA (cf. Daniel 11:39)–but there still is more time.
